COVID 19: KN95 Masks
With the rise of Corona Virus cases globally, the World Health Organization encourages everyone to social distance, frequent hand washing, and use a face mask to prevent the virus’s spread.

A mask should protect you from everyday pollutants, viruses, and bacteria and give you comfort throughout the day. Different types of face masks offer various kinds of protection. KN95 respirators are China standards, while N95 is the US standard. Nevertheless, KN95 masks have many of the same protective properties, according to Sean Kelly, founder of New Jersey-based PPE of America.

What are KN95 Masks?

The KN95 masks consist of quadruple filtration masks for efficient protection. Its soft cloth with smooth finishing fits comfortably and prevents leakages. One of its features is its nasal supporting structure with an adjustable tip and can be used without fogging the glasses.

What does KN95 protect you from?

KN95 can protect you from everyday pollutants, pollen, smog, allergies, and sensitivities to climate change and environments. Its multi-level filtration can protect you against more massive particles, PM2.5, finer particles, and other environmental emissions.

KN95 masks are designed for comfort and fit while ensuring a complete seal. The material used to make this product is light and soft but with high permeability and a high absorption rate. It also has a filtration efficiency of 98 % according to the standard test.

When you use a face mask, you are not only protecting yourself but others too. “Wearing a mask is good for two reasons: It’s going to cut down 95 percent of the breathing that sends the virus up to 6 feet away in a room, and also will reduce fecal/oral transmission by preventing the virus from getting into your nose or mouth” According to Dr. Luke Padwick, an emergency physician and founder of Austin Emergency Texas, “I think this will slow down the virus a lot.”

Facemask is helpful in both preventing illness in healthy persons and preventing asymptomatic transmission. Studies have shown, face mask use is associated with a considerable reduction in the risk of COVID-19 infection. Mask-wearing by infected people lessens spreading risk, especially nowadays where there is a high percentage of asymptomatic infected individuals. Consequently, people may be infected even though they show no signs of Covid 19. Hence, face masks can alleviate the effects of COVID. An experiment revealed that COVID-19 growth rates declined by 2% three weeks after the state-mandated public face mask usage. A comparative study showed that US states mandating face mask use have a more significant decline rate in COVID 19 cases than those who did not implement this policy.

Always wear masks to avoid the spread of the disease and protect yourself from the harmful complications of the virus. When you use a face mask, you are not only protecting yourself but others too. Wearing a face mask is a simple intervention that can protect individuals in preventing acquiring COVID 19.
